We asked Amy to help us in two ways. First we needed our IT function evaluated and taken to the next level. She performed her evaluation in context of the entire company then led us on revamping our approach. In retrospect, the advice she gave us was sound and the results are that we have a better functioning IT department that is solidly incorporated within the company’s structure.
The second aspect of our work with Amy evolved from her evaluation of the IT function. Under Amy’s direction we established a systems strategy that will be our basis for managing the company for the next several years. Amy led us on an evaluation of virtually all of our systems: financial, patient accounting, decision support and, quality. Additionally, we instituted project management capabilities that are allowing us to execute this strategy. Amy was instrumental in both the development of our strategy and providing us with a project management structure that ensures that strategy will be implemented effectively.
