- Organization did not have a track record of successfully completing projects. Project sponsors and participants needed to improve communications on business expectations and project resources and deliverables.
- Project impact to revenue generating staff needed to be assessed. A project repository was not established so prioritization could not be accomplished.

- Project Priorities needed to be aligned to Business objectives
- Business goals needed to be made more granular so that all would understand the expectations, impacts, benefits
- Project Management basics needed to be learned and embraced by management team

- Assembled business leaders to help identify priorities and outstanding communication issues
- Paired outside, subject matter experts with internal candidates to define corporate Project Methodology that was appropriate for organizational culture
- Conducted a 45 day Strategic Information Systems Plan investigation
Results
- CEO adopted Project Management as a 2008 corporate goal
- Identified extremely capable business leader to broaden horizons and form new group – Business Strategy and Implementation
- Hired additional project managers to continue to implement project methodology and lead new initiatives
- Developed and presented 3-5 year Strategic Information Systems Plan that outlined the business initiatives and the related resources to achieve success to executives and highlights to Board members
